Dracula Halloween Treats

Hi Everyone!!  Halloween is just a few days away and I almost didn't bother to show you this fun treat box thinking that it would be too late for you to make them, but guess what?!  It's digital! You can download and print right away, no need to wait for shipping!

Inside the coffin is a fun Dracula who holds some candy beneath his cape!

You get the Coffin and Dracula as well as a couple options for a belly band to use to wrap around to keep it closed.  For my project I opted for some thick twine to wrap around mine.  I have a few tips for this download.  Firstly, I was afraid I would use up all my husbands black ink, since the coffins are black and the Dracula is black on the back so his cape is two sided since you will see the back when you close his cape around the candy. I decided to load the download onto a thumb drive and bring it to Office Depot to print for me.  They did a great job and I chose a heavy weight card stock similar to Whisper White so that the box would fold nicely and hold its shape.  Later, I decided I wanted one more, and I printed at home but I just used my black ink-pad on the back of Dracula's cape to save on printer ink, and I just made the coffin out of Basic Black paper.  The download comes with a fully designed coffin, but you also get the "Stamp brush" template so I just printed the fold lines onto copy paper, cut them out, and traced them onto Basic Black.  If you have the time, I think printing at an office supply store turned out really great and easy, that is what I will do in the future.  My son wandered into my craft room as I was putting these together and he really loved it, can't wait to give them to a few special trick or treaters!

MDS Blog Hop ~ Halloween Treats

Hi Everyone!! It's MDS Blog Hop time again!  YEA! If this is your first time visiting our MDS Blog Hop, here is the deal.  Twice a month, the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, a group of MDS enthusiasts link our blogs together to highlight what you can do with My Digital Studio.  Sometimes we have a theme, sometimes we just show you what we have been working on.   Today I am going to show you a fun way to make your own Cupcake picks. Remember the download that was part of the weekly deals a few weeks ago?  It was called Monster Munchies and it has fun saying for Halloween treats.

Bone Appetit!!  So cute for cupcakes don't you think?

I printed out my images onto Whisper White paper and punched them out with my paper punch.  I sandwiched a toothpick in between two  black scallop circles and added my fun bones on top.
You can make very personalized picks too!  I made some a while back for my son's birthday.  You can add the child's name and how old they are, anything you like.
Next up on the blog hop is the super talented Holly!  click the next button to see what she is up to in MDS this week!  We hope that we inspire you to give MDS a try!

Ornamental Pine

Hi everyone!  I wanted to share a Christmas card today.  I really like the set Ornamental Pine from the Holiday mini catalog, so I have been playing around with it this week.  This is a very simple yet pretty card.
Start with 3 sizes of Very Vanilla card stock.
I used 5 1/4 by 4
4 3/4 by 3 1/2

4 1/2 by 3 1/4

I mounted the cards onto an Always Artichoke card base.

Stamp your image with the center layer missing.  Be sure that you make your image overlap onto the larger piece. Then add the center layer back in.  I used dimentionals in between the larges and middle layers.

Next I used the two-way glue pen to add some glitter to the branches and pine cone.  I added the glue to the to of the branch, and the tops of the pine cone petals, to mimic the look of fallen snow.  I also added a bit to the pine needles.

Thank you for stopping by today!

CASE'Ing Pinterest

Do you visit Pinterest for inspiration?  I do, and I Love it.  Do you know what "Case" stands for?  Case is a term a lot of stampers use to say that they have copied the card from elsewhere,  Copy And Share Everything.  This is a card I saw on Pinterest that I decided to make. When I went back to see who made the original, I couldn't find it anymore :(
So, I don;t know who to credit for the design but it is really lovely in person.  The card uses Encore Gold ink for the splatter,  Sahara Sand is behind the main image.  The branch and sentiment are done in gold embossing powder.  The card is base and main panel are Very Vanilla and there is a mat made from Brushed Gold cardstock.    The are bits of Gold Watercolor wonder Washi tape and a small gold button to complete the Gold theme.

Head on over to Pinterest and type in "For all things" and you will see so many great samples using this pretty set.

Halloween wall decor

Hi everyone!! It's MDS Blog hop time again!  If this is your first time visiting our Blog Hop, let me explain. The MDS blog Hop is brought to you by a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who love to use My Digital Studio and want you to get to know and love it too.  We hop on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.  This week we are showing Home Decor or Party decor. I have decided to show you some fun inserts for your family photo frames.  Every once and a while its fun to switch things up, so I removed the photos of my loved ones and added some fun Halloween pictures instead.

There are so many fun downloads for Halloween.  Did you know that you can search for downloads by occasion?  It's a great way to see all the Halloween downloads at one time and not have to weed through all of the other downloads.  Click here to see all the Halloween themed downloads.

This fun Witch silhouette is from a fun download called Sophisticated Spooks. The Sophisticated Spooks download comes with papers, stamps , embellishments and punches- lots of great stuff here!

This spooky cat is from the Toxic Frameable download.  The Toxic Frameable download is an all favorite Halloween download.  It is a simple framable template but you also get all the items used to make the template and it is just so full of good stuff and so inexpensive.  I have used it many times.  Click here to see an older post that shows more of this fun download.

This page just uses a text box with a fun patterned paper behind it.  The papers I used for the backgrounds on all three frameables are from the Monster Munchies download, which is on sale this week!
I hope you liked my projects today!  Click the next button to continue on our Hop!  We hope you are inspired to use MDS on your next home decor or party project!

Bold Fall Colors

Have you used the new Blackberry Bliss color yet?  It is really rich and bold and I really like it.  I just know it is going to get a lot of use in my house.  In keeping with the boldness of the Blackberry Bliss I paired it with Cajun Craze on Old Olive for this fall feeling card. The For All Things stamp set is sure getting alot of use these days as well.

The Color me Autumn Designer Series paper is so pretty and I took the look of the paper and applied it to the tag.  To give the tag an embossed look I stamped the image in VersaMark, then right into some Blackberry Bliss, then onto the paper.  Next I added clear embossing powder and applied the heat gun.  You can achieve the look of embossing in every color this way, yea!
The Cajun Craze circle has been dry embossed with the wood grain embossing folder and sponged it with Soft Suede.  I used some Natural Chevron Ribbon and Lined Thread on the tag, which was made with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.   I used the Scallop Boarder punch on another strip of Cajun Craze, and layered it onto a piece of Old Olive card stock.
The inside of this card is just two dark to write on so I added some Whisper White, which of course I then had to decorate with the acorns from the For all Things stamp set and a strip of Washi Tape.
